SIMPAX DC resistors are used to start DC motors (e.g. Baldor). They are applied e.g. for the start-up of oil pumps for generator lubrication system.
SIMPAX manufactures SIMPAX DC resistors for each application, each power (from a few Watts to a MW) and each load cycle.
Based on many years of experience and advanced 3D modeling, we can custom design a non-standard DC resistor, requiring unusual resistance elements and power [see SPECIAL DESIGN RESISTORS].
Start-up DC resistors parameters
Number of Start-up stages: | 2-4 (or according to needs) |
Startup current on each stage: | In accordance with motor’s parameters and the starting current ratio |
Start-up time: | Provide start-up time and starting current ratio per hour. NOTE: Resistor may be designed for continuous operation with nominal currents. This applies if the contactor does not open. Such resistor strength causes that whole system can continue operating. |
Resistance: | Specify the resistance for each stage |
Insulation voltage: | ≤ 1kV, or ≥ 1kV |
Type of cooling: | Natural |
